Short version
FreeAudioTranscription turns speech into text in your browser. Your audio and transcript are not uploaded to FreeAudioTranscription servers for transcription. We do not use cookies.
What stays on your device

- Files the browser may keep so return visits can start faster
- Theme, crash-recovery, timing notes, and your analytics choice in local storage (not cookies)
What we fetch from the network
The website itself is served over the internet. When needed, the page may also download files that let transcription run on your device. That download is not your recording. Visits to freeaudiotranscription.co also load Cloudflare’s Web Analytics beacon for the measurements described below.
Analytics
Cloudflare Web Analytics measures page views, referrers, country, device/browser, and Core Web Vitals. It does not set cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, and never receives your audio or transcript.
We also count five anonymous events on this site: your browser cannot run on-device transcription, a transcription of a file finished, of the built-in sample, of a microphone recording, and a transcription crashed. Each one records the event name, your browser family and major version, operating system, the coarse country and Cloudflare data centre that served you, which page you were on, the site build, and timings (audio length, how long it took, file size).
We do not record your IP address, and we never send your audio, your transcript, or your file names. Nothing is stored in a cookie. These counts are kept for three months and then deleted.
Turn them off here. We also honour “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control automatically, so if your browser sends either signal nothing is counted whether or not you use this box.
Cookies
We do not use cookies, so there is no cookie banner. Theme choice, a crash-recovery note, a short timing hint, and your analytics choice stay in local storage on your device. We do not read those notes on a server.
Ads
No third-party ad scripts ship today. If advertising is added later, this policy will be updated.
